Re: City of Barrie Municipal Elections Computerized, without ballots, ballot boxes, privacy, or the right of the public to scrutinize/witness their own election process in a transparent manner.

What has the City of Barrie, Ontario, Canada and the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. have in common?

Well, both cities are one of the fastest growing cities in respect to their own country. Both cities are continuously dealing with the issue of gambling casinos and all the crime and social costs that go along with it.

Last but not least, both cities have been invaded by alleged electronic voting equipment , that illegally have no paper ballots. These concocted electronic systems have obviously no paper ballots to go into a scrutinized ballot box, when one casts their private ballot. A legal audit trail is required by law under the Municipal Election Act 1996 of Ontario, as well as under the State Law of the Constitution of Nevada.

As recent as November 1996 the citizens of Las Vegas, located in Clark County, Nevada, have taken to the streets in protest of this blatant attack on their democratic right to a free vote.

There are allegations of election rigging, tampering, fraud, kick-backs and astronomical secret purchasing costs of these bogus computerized voting systems, of which has absolutely no re-countable private paper ballot to scrutinize or audit and in some cases take 10 times longer to vote, excluding the continuous reoccurring computer break downs and crashes!

I wish to quote Mr. Lou Epton, a Las Vegas talk show host, who is heard worldwide, from his column dated October 1995 titled " Dirty Deal?" Lotsa Luck Las Vegas Voters, "You ask why we should be so suspicious?...claims that the electronic impulses are the functional equivalent of paper ballots. forgive me --- I don't by it and neither do the thousands of others!"

"Many of us believe that because the public was getting wise to the tricks used in the punch card election scams, the" good old boys" decided it was time to eliminate the paper trail, which eventually could provide evidence to expose the vote scam in Clark County, Nevada."

"The big question now is : With these programmable voting machines counting our votes and with no original paper ballots to provide any audit trail as required by Nevada Constitution, Art. 2 Sec. 5. If our votes can't be recounted, do we really have a vote?"

One would think Mr. Epton is only speaking for what is occurring in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A., and could not possibly happen in Barrie, Ontario, Canada! After all, the City of Barrie is the only city in Canada, in November 1997 municipal election, to totally use this make shift ballot-less, unscrutinized, unaccountable, unauditable computerized alleged voting system. Question? Does this mean that casinos and computerized elections go hand-in- hand?

One could be sure that the City of Barrie staff and City lawyers, as well as City Council and Mayor Janice Laking, who voted for and approved it's use in the November 10th 1997 Municipal Elections, thoroughly investigated this new and Canadian precedent setting alleged voting system and were totally assured that with this alleged computerized system, nothing could possibly go wrong! Go wrong! Go wrong! Go wrong....!

Seven states, at local levels, used ballotless, computerized, touch screen election process, supplied by Global Elections Systems (www.globalelections.com ) in the last federal Presidential Elections. Now it appears that Indiana and Florida have passed new laws, to make these bogus, ballotless, unverifiable computer alleged election system, mandatory throughout their own State.

Bob Urosevitch from Global Elections maintains, he wants to make a quick $10 billion, on selling these bogus computer election systems. Notwithstanding, the billions of dollars of service contacts that go along with them, just to repair these computers, as they are being hacked, rigged or as they are continuously crashing, into cyberspace, "never, never land".

When asked if this ballotless system can have a legal recount, Mr. Urosevitch maintains you must "get with the program." You just "have to trust the system." In deed, because there are no ballots to count or recount. If I may quote President Reagan, with his response to the Soviet Unions missile supply. "Trust but verify!"

Just recently, Chris Matthews from Hardball commenting on Congressman Steny Hoyer and Bob Ney "Voting Improvement Act". "What's the best voting system that you know off? What's the simplest, the one with a good paper trail, that can't be cheated on and works for 100% of the people, or close to it?"

Congressman Bob Ney-"... the touch screen as far as I know is supposed to be a good device"

Chris Matthews "But no paper trail! How do you recount a machine, that was done like an ATM machine? Is there paper trail of how the person voted, so you can recount afterwards?"

Congressman Bob Ney-"Well I think what there will be, there we be a technology trail of sorts..."

Chris Matthews-"Do you trust the sharpies in the big cities, that are always ahead of you one step?" "To adjust the numbers before even people vote that morning, which is an old tradition in some cities?"

Congressmen Bob Ney-(laughing)" Ahee, well, ahee, you got to watch that you know."

Watch indeed! The issues with alleged alternative voting methods throughout the world, besides our right to a private paper ballot, ballot box hand count, scrutineers, witnesses, transparency, accountability and auditabilty, are that these other alleged methods, are not in any way legal or do they meet our Constitutional right to due process.



The Chief Election Officer of Ontario, Canada, maintains that, the above private paper ballot method election process, is the best in any democracy. The method has been tried, tested and is true and is servicing over 35 million Canadians, as well as communities throughout the USA and the world. Even in Union County, in the State of Florida, has this private paper ballot system and some of the people there, are ready to fight all the way, with a Constitutional challenge, if the state tries to take their sacred private ballot box, away from them.

Since the beginning of civilization our developed private paper ballot and ballot box voting method has been tried, tested and is true, to the representative democratic process. And it has been used, as a "peace maker", "ballots for bullets", has been used, for the premise, that we all have the right to agree, to disagree. Agreed?

This goes without saying that our private paper ballot process, as described above, must be vigorously policed, fines and penalties increased to fit the crime. The crime of attacking our sacred freedoms and liberties, our self determination. The private paper ballot can be policed.

You can not police cyberspace. Right?

The "burden of proof", is on the government, to show with strict proof that, the election process is honest, safe, private and true. There is no need for any, "rush to judgement", is there? We can all wait as a country and count the ballots together as a nation, can we not?

The Deputy Commissioner of Elections of the USA, Bill Kimberling declared on June 7, 2000 at an annual meeting of the Maryland Association of Elected Officials, has called Internet voting (ballotless elections), "a breeding ground for fraud" and a business-driven threat to democracy. In addition, the sanctity of the secret (private) vote would also be in danger if computerized Internet voting (ballotless elections) was to continue, to be allowed.

When I called the Deputy Commissioner of USA Elections a few days later, I thanked him for speaking out. I told him that speaking out, on computerized Internet voting (ballotless elections)is a lot like the story of the "Emperors New Cloths". He said, in a responding humorous fashion. "You know, it is funny you mentioned that. At the meeting I said that, "The Emperor has no cloths!" The naked truth, is it not?

"If people like Sadam Hussein and the Colombian Drug Cartel and friends, have the technical means to undermined the free worlds election process, why should we (the United States of America) accommodate them?" "Remember we elect prosecutors, judges and sheriffs also, don't we?" Stated, Kimberling.

And still a "catch 22". In David S. Broders newly published book called 'Democracy Derailed" dealing with initiative and referendum campaigns, the power of money and the manipulation of the political process, Broder speaks how people like George Soros and friends try to legalize virtually all illegal drugs. This will "dumb down" the electorate and weaken and inevitably destroy, our representative democracy, our freedom, our sacred private paper ballot and ballot box.

Soros and friends are promoting, "Direct Democracy" through unverifiable riggable computerized elections. This is to undermined our "Representative Democracy" and is a direct attack, on our Constitutional right to due process, freedom and liberty.

We have moved from illegal mail-in ballots, to mechanic machines, to computerized tabulators, to ballotless computer touch screen with no private paper ballots and now telephone, Internet voting, driven by the alleged "Direct Democracy/ Anarchist-Communist" movement. This global movement is driven by " Initiative Campaigns" paid for by a handful of elitist proliferating, to name a few, pro-gun control, pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, pro-drug, pro-casino/gambling and pro-child porn.

One could find on the Internet www.ballot.org, www.ballotwatch.org, www.iandrinstitute.org, www.vote.org or www.vote.org/old.htm and you will find websites and links, to other websites that are a spearhead for the "Alleged Anarchist/Communist Direct Democracy Movement", that goes hand in hand with the 'Alleged New World, Out Of Order". It has been said "It is a Representative Democracy, if we can keep it!"

Remember Tyrant Joseph Stalin's saying "Those who case the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything!"

And remember Casto's Communist Cuba is an "Alleged Direct Democracy". Is that the future we are working so hard for? I think not!
